myCat

• Verdict: promote-to-tech
• Why: Desktop cat companion — frameless Qt overlay, draggable, GIF animated, multilingual. The fun bits: Ollama chat integration so you can talk to your desktop cat, AI character generation via Stable Diffusion or OpenAI, and banner-plane reminders that fly across your screen. Python + PySide6, works on all three platforms, ships as pip install or prebuilt binaries. 235 stars, MIT. It's a joy. Full writeup at myCat — Desktop Cat Companion.
